Many teams have selflessly served our community since APWAP was founded in 2002.
These cherished members might not be actively volunteering, but we won’t forget their impact on the community. Below is a directory of former and retired volunteer animals. Any years (if listed) are their years of service to the organization.
Baloo; 2009-2015
This picture of Baloo was taken at Weinerfest. Baloo frequently visited the Brazos County Juvenile Detention Center.
Duchess; 2012-2022
In addition to serving APWAP for a decade, Duchess also won the Senior Race at Weinerspiel in 2021.
Heidi
Heidi joined APWAP as a therapy dog after retiring from racing. She enjoyed visiting schools and retirement homes, and served as our temperament test dog.
Isabel (Izzy)
Isabel was one of APWAP’s first therapy dogs. She is a dachschund/terrier mix. In this photo, she is pictured next to Waffles. In addition to serving in APWAP, Isabel was also an emotional support dog.
